Hit the Berry late on Saturday and hit Portal Bay. Got up there around 2pm. Man, was it dead. I was on the pontoon, and everyone I talked to, boat, tube, or toon was saying it was slow. I was using mostly white jigs with worms. Finally, about 5pm, I hooked up with a few. Then I had about 6 in a row that I hooked and had them almost all the way up and they spit the jig right back at me. Everyone on shore was catching fish though. How frustrating is that. As long as they were using power bait, they were leaving with 6-12 fish over a few hours. It was a beautiful day to be up there though. Wind was on and off. Best jig was a white head with green body. I thought they would be hitting a lot harder and faster. Oh well. That means I will have to try again.
