Hey Spades, First a Lake Mead saftey tip... this time of year the chance for afternon thunderstorms is a very real possibillity. make sure you have your PFD on and also make sure you've got a 2 way radio of some sort (VHF preffered) with WX channels and some one who knows where you are launching and when to expect you back...
In the 10 years I havew been boating on Mead I have picked up 2 tubers and 1 windsurfer who have been blown far from shore there, during the summer storms the winds come up really fast and the chance for sustained winds in the 50mph range is very real. Be safe we already have had several drownings this season, and I'm tired of seeing them on the news. OK lecture over...
Now for the fishing... try Boulder Beach, Horsepower cove, and Saddle cove, these are all in the south end of the Boulder Basin (Closest to Vegas) and the latest report I have seen says that the Bass are on the points and willing to eat the Senkos, the Stripers are bitting Anchovies in the early AM. Chrome Kastmasters work really good if you find the Stripers boiling on shad.
Fish early, it's going to be really hot, Bring lots of H2O, and drink it... Find some shade or AC during the day, high temp for the day here is usually around 6:pm so beat the heat and wake up before the sun does...
Good luck and post to let us know how you do...
PS. watch out for the Crazy's out there on Jetskis
