[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard. Starvation is about the same drive as Yuba from the Salt Lake valley, so if it's walleyes and perch you're after it offers the best prospects. Nothing like Yuba in the good old days, but potentially a good substitute.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Get yourself one of the blue and white maps available in most tackle outlets and look at two main areas. The first is at the upper end of the lake, around the main State Park and ramp. Fish the Saleratus channel and off the cliffs. Sometimes you have to look for the fish, but an experienced walleye guy can find and catch them.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]There are points and coves in different spots around the lake. Depending on water levels the fish will be there or they won't. Summertime depths can range from 10 feet to 20 feet for the best action. Deeper early and late in the year.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The Rabbit Gulch area is right to the north of where the bridge crosses the Strawberry River, at the inlet end of the lake. When the water levels are up, it provides some great worm harness action in fairly flat bottom conditions.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Right now the fish are very active. You can catch lots of both perch and walleyes on almost any plastic or jig...either tipped with worm or fished without it. White seems to be about the best color for walleyes, but we have caught them on just about every color we have tried.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If you have a larger boat, you will probably have to launch up by the dam, at the main ramp. Smaller boats can be launched from several places on the beach at Rabbit Gulch.[/#0000ff]
