I`ve just won a bid for what looks like a good spinning rod on ebay (all I know is that it looked cool and has 9+1 bearings).
I think my 6" pole is a little short for shore casting which is what`ll I`ll be doing (at least until I can convince my father to invest in a boat at our cabin
