Tincanfsh and I hit Strawberry yesterday. We were a little worried that, based upon recent reports, that the catching would be slow. No reason to be concerned we landed 68 fish. Had we caught one more rainbow we would have caught one. Except for about 5 smaller fish, all were in the upper end of the slot, and the largest were 21 inchers. A few of them were extremely heavy for Strawberry cutts. Caught nearly all of them, right on the bottom, vertically jigging in water between 25 and 34 feet deep. We tried casting jigs while we were anchored and immediately caught some near the surface. Caught them on a variety of colors but various shades of white in size 2 1/2" worked the best. Tipped with both minnow and crawlers and a little salt shrimp Smelly Jelly didn't hurt. Water temperature was 48.6 degrees. A little chilly early, but the wind didn't start blowing until around 2:00 PM. There were three tubers in the area and they were catching some fish also. One said he was using a purple Wooly Bugger and letting it sink about 8 feet.
