[#0000ff]The perch are setting up in their winter quarters right now. The only ones we caught were in almost the same places we caught them under the ice last year. Now all we need is for Mama Nature to get some cold flashes.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]On the other hand, anyone who wants to play with troutskis can have a lot of fun just out from the ramp at Rock Cliff. We got smacked good, even in the wind, coming back in. And, one guy that had been braving the wind in his pontoon, waving a fairy wand, had two really nice rainbows as we came in. I was catching fish on the bottom, in 10 feet, with a little white roadrunner and had lots of hits before we couldn't stand any more fun.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The bottle bait brigade on shore wasn't getting any hits though. Then, of course they weren't exactly geared for finesse trouting. One was using two half ounce egg sinkers with his silly putty rig. Another was fishing a worm and marshmallow combo...3 feet under a big bobber. What's the purpose?[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Almost anytime we got bored jigging for perch, all we had to do was throw a spinner in any direction and we got hits near the surface. There was one boat pulling pop gear that pulled in a few decent trout too. They were having a tough time trolling slow with the wind. As soon as they got just one degree out of line with the wind, it pushed the boat sideways and down the channel.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I was half planning a return trip, just to try for some browns and larger bows in shallower water near the inlet. However, I decided to hit Lindon tomorrow morning and will be going to Huntington on Tuesday...weather permitting. Might have to take an auger for my tube. You wish.[/#0000ff]
