[#0000ff]Reminds me of a couple of similar jaunts I have made down there in "balmy" weather. On one occasion my fishing buddy and myself had our backs to the horizontal blizzard, as we pitched jigs for prespawn walleyes. Every once in awhile we had to shrug hard to loosen the buildup of snow on our back and shoulders. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There was another time about this time of year, on American Fork Boat Harbor when we arrived after driving all the way down in a driving blizzard (dedication vs. delusion). The water temp was cold enough that the heavy snow was settling on the water and not melting. There was a layer of slush several inches deep covering the harbor. My fishing buddy (same one) had brought waders but not a float tube. He tried making a couple of casts while I was getting my tube ready. We laughed when his tandem jig rig stayed on top of the slush. So...I plowed a path out through it, with my tube, and made a hole about 10 feet across for him to fish. He caught a few white bass from my "custom fishing hole" while I made my own small "piece of heaven" and caught a few by vertical jigging.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The storm got worse and the air temperature dropped. I almost got frozen into the slush before powering my way back to shore. Yeah, ya cain't beat fun.[/#0000ff]
