the answer to your last question would be the "stergeon" one caught in alstraila was said to tip the scales at 1200 pounds just a few years ago. One was said to be caught some 50 years ago that weighed in at the tuna of 1,832 lbs (un substantiated)
the current north american record is held in california for lake stergeion, but british colombia boast the next world record stergeon will come from the Fraser River
Aligator Gar Pike are no slouches with an american weight of 279 lbs
But no one has weighed o'l Nessey yet [angelic]
