The crappie are definitely concentrated in certain areas this time of year and a lot more vulnerable and accessible to the masses than any other time of year except possibly during their spawn, which does not allow everyone access because there is no ice. Is there the potential to impact the fishery if a lot of people decide to hit it hard and the harvest rate was high for a sustained duration? Maybe.[/size][/black][/font]

The fish you catch will die. I saw some dead crappie floating up against the ice last weekend, These weren't the big ones and probably, initially swam away after being released, then died, and floated to the surface. MGB, IFG, and I drilled a couple holes through the ice and retrieve these dead fish.[/size][/font]
