Shore fishing on the Mayan Riviera

Do you know of anyway to research what beaches/areas you can or cannot fish. Do they have a gov't site outlining the protected turtle beaches?

I would love to do as much leg work as I can prior to lugging a bunch of gear around that I may not be able to use.
