I work with computers and networking gear and I get this question all the time. What it boils down to is whats available in your area. Not all neighborhoods are wired for, dsl, cable and digital lines
a good start is Broadbandreports.com use the prequal and find out whats available. Also lots of local reviews

DSL (Qwest) a good choice but does requires a phone line. It dosent tie up your phone but if your like me and don't have a regular telephone then you have to add in the cost of a land line. Also depending on how far you are from the CO (Central Office) Is going to depend how fast your internet connection is. The further away you are the weaker the signal and slower your connection.
DSL also needs gateway its usually grouped with a another company like MSN or Earthlink. Basically your using Qwest lines to to get to the internet but MSN to access the internet. setup is faily easy

Cable (comcast) is really fast, 3mbps alone, grouped with cable tv 7mbps, and burstable to 12mbps with power burst. Those are advertised speeds but Ive never reach those speeds on the average ive only gotten 1 to 5, no phone line required, and dosent matter how far you are from the CO. But it is pricey and does require a coax jack in your wall (round cable jack like the one in the back of your TV) Comcast will install a jack for a small fee setup is pretty simple.

Wireless (Digis) Digis is based out of Pleasant Grove Its basically a radio tower broadcasting an internet connection to small dish mounted on your roof, monthly costs are similar to cable and advertised speeds of 7mbps which is comparable to DSL & Cable. Digis is a good alternative if DSL or Cable is not available in your area but there is a installation cost and if you don't own your home you'll need to get permission to install a dish on your roof. The dish is approximately the same size as your typical dishes

Theres a few others Digital carries out there but these are the three I would reccomend Im currently using Ygnition Networks its been goods so far but only been with the for a few months if you have any question free free to ask.
