ok i'll try that . he swore by this thing . And i know that i have worms in the backyard . so i'll give that a try.How far apart should the probes be?and will i have better luck @ dark? [/reply]
How far apart varies. Mine has several probes and I usually form a circle with them with the probes about 18" to 24" apart. It also depends on how much moisture is in the ground (more moisture the further apart you can usually place the probes). Just try experimenting. They can be gotten this way in bright sunlight. If the ground is not already moist forget even trying to get them this way. As has already been posted, be careful (wearing rubber soled boots wouldn't be a bad idea).
