Hey there imfisherman, and welcome to the message boards. Sorry about the late reply, I don't get on the boards on the weekend much, and i've had a full plate this week thus far at work.
As for your question................... When you say a "10' radius," I take it you mean just that. With that said, a 5' castnet has a 10' radius. Unless you're highly skilled, I wouldn't recommend a net over 6'. You can usually pick one up at any tackle store in garden city or murrells inlet for about 25 or 30 bucks. They are not expensive at all. By the time you get to the inlet, the mullet should be starting to poke their head out along the banks of the creek. You might also find some luck castneting on the bridges at garden city at low tide. There are lots of cool things that is catchable in those back creeks. Of course, you'll have to wait a few months before the shrimp are back in town.
The summer flounder are out and about, and can be caught drifting the back creeks with live mud minnows. Like I said above, the mullet should be here by the time you get here, and you'll be able to cast net your bait. Good thing too................The price of bait is going way up. [unsure]
Make sure and remind me when you are comming into town. Maybe I can meet up with you and have a cold brew. I'll show you a couple of my favorite resteraunts. [cool]
