Did you know that where I live in Trinidad ,West Indies, the old fishermen say that the year after a leap year always makes for hard fishing? I don't know how much truth this holds but what I can say is that all my trips for the year have been less than successful. We had an extremely hot and bone-dry dry season which had major influence on all inshore/near-shore species. Hopefully the rainy season will bring about a change in this pattern. What have you noticed about fishing in your part of the world in this post leap-year year? Has it been better, worse, or normal?
