I got a Daiwai for now. I got a 20.00 one and the bait store owner said this was good for catfish and it has a 1 year warrenty and they pay shipping both ways if it breaks. The reel is not as nice as I would like but it does the job. I got it so I could save for the St. Croix catfish pole. I payed in nickles dimes quarters and pennies and 3 ones. I cleaned my room actually I was hunting for money to pay for a new fishing pole. I think the St. Croix is what I really need. I know way overkill but it is the best. I have had the worst and I want the best. I am so crazy. The problem with the reel on the new pole is minor I just have to flip the bale back closed once the line hits the water or it keeps coming off the spool and gets tangled. Once I got use to it I did not have a problem. It will do for now. I am going to go in on Friday and put the rod on lay away with a deposit and make payments every few weeks until I can get it. He told me I could make payments and they would put it in the back for me. It is 120 bucks for the St. Croix fishing pole. I know it is crazy and for me it is nuts because I am in college and I should be saving but come on it is St. Croix and its the rod I really want. So I bought the cheapy rod for now and I am going to get top of the line St. Croix by mid summer. My parents will kill me but it is my money and I worked for it. I may not have a reel for it for awhile. I want a good reel for it I like the Abu Garcia reels. It will cost total with reel about 160 bucks plus tax. The Daiwai will do for now. I can't wait to get my St. Croix though. I probably won't get to use it much until next summer but it is something I will use for many years. So once I get the warrenty on my first pole and I get the St. Croix payed for. I will have three fishing rods.
