Wise words well said! The best things in life don't come easy, which is what makes them worth it. If a person could have what he wanted all the time, he'd probably take it for granted and I'm sure it wouldn't be long before he realized it's really not what he wanted at all. It's the ups AND the downs that make things worthwhile. As much as I love fishing, I know that if I devoted an unproportional amount of time to it, I'd end up losing the things that I really love most.
Look at us waxing all philosophical! Kinda reminds me of Pat McManus' I fish, therefore I am book: "The rule is...the worse the fisherman, the better the philosopher...Plato himself was so miserably inept at fishing that he eventually wrote The Republic, which is just about as bad as you can get when it comes to catching fish. Much to Plato's disappointment, The Republic was rejected by all the leading outdoor publications of the day." [cool]
