Lincoln Beach Tubers Floatilla 8-14-07
#22
Hi Pat- It has been along time since I have been on the BFT page. Yes, life has been fast and furious for me too this year. It has slowed down some now so I have been able to get in more fishing time lately. Last friday we took the scout troop on an overnighter to a local private pond and had a great time catching small blue gills. I gave several scouts one of your small jigs with a piece of nightcrawler to use under a bobber. Want to trade more jigs for salsa?
I can feel the tension leaving me as I unwind and enjoy being in nature. Fishing is what helped me keep my sanity when my kids were small and I was strugggling with them. I remembered the good times I had fishing as a kid, and the best memories of my Dad were the fishing trips he took us on. Now I am trying to pass it on to my grandkids.
We bought a small camping trailer this year and have spent time camping with the family. That has been fun, but it doesn't have a hitch on it to pull the boat with, so haven't used the boat as much this year.
Here is a laugh for you. I took the boat to Newton several weeks ago to fish. I was alone and got the boat out into the water okay, but when I started the outboard motor I riled up the nest of wasps that had built a nest inside the housing. I couldn't run away, so I grabbed my hat and started swatting with it and beating them down. I didn't get stung, but I sure must have looked crazy out there. Acey
