Starvation Walleye
#9
[cool][#0000ff]Starvation is definitely a "90/10" pond. 90% of the fish can be in only 10% of the water. If you find them you can usually catch them...not always. They can be fickle.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You would think that there would be fish all over the lake, but that does not seem to be the case. Starvation regulars have their proven areas that usually hold fish...even on changing water conditions. But, even the most successful Starvation anglers sometimes have to look in several places...and change tactics...before finding fish on any given trip.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Anybody who tells you that they catch lots of fish on every trip to Starvation will lie about other things too.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Probably the best example is the ice fishing picture for that lake. It holds bajillions of walleyes, perch and smallmouth...and some good trout too. BUT...last winter there were a whole lot of savvy chiller-drillers who swiss cheesed that whole lake without finding a mark on sonar...from shallow to deep. The fish have to be somewhere...but where?[/#0000ff]
