Worked on Friday in downtown LA until 1:30 then headed out into the nasty Friday traffic. It took two hours to reach Casitas and another twenty minutes to switch everything in my truck around to get to my fishing stuff. It's a pretty steep downhill clamber made even worse by the lake being down twenty feet since spring. The same evasive lily type plant is growing down into the water from the sides of the lake. I started throwing a Diawa TD minnow. I never threw plugs from my last tube because of the blowout factor but my float cat is indestuctable! Well it didn't take long before I nailed two nice bass maybe 4 and 5 pounds by casting lengthwise along those weeds. Those fish about kicked my butt and I was thinking I was a little undergunned. Guess not because it was two hours later and not another whack.
My arms hed recovered sufficiantly to tie on a Magic lure and the bite reappeared. Twelve smaller fish later I had lost the sun, and my will to fight the cold wind in a t-shirt and straight waders with no sweats. Off to Santa Barbara with a
on my face. Work was easy only one disturbance and it was settled without injury to him. Great trip!
