Mr Dryrod
Am I now to find out we are fly fishing at Corona Lake? I can do it but It's kind of like taking only a pitching wedge to a golf tourney. Its good only if we all do it. On the other hand if we hit the lake with many different methods we might learn something. I guess I'm ambivalent. My last fly outing I hooked an eight to nine pound Brookie at Irvine Lake during a employee only event { Employees and guests...me} I know it was that big because I had Bryn Martin the Gen Mgr Kept telling me it was the one monster they stocked that week. It had a scar on the fin from hitting bottom when they dropped it in. Anyway I fought that trout for nearly twenty minutes on my three weight with a five x tippet. I was being filmed by Foxs Sports Net and a crowd had developed. I guess that trout figured it was time to skedaddle because all of a sudden it turned and ran straight at me. I stripped furiously, then he turned and ran straight back out.. Well all the line was laying all over the ground and unfortunately underfoot. My foot to be exact. With a whimper of a pop my leader parted. Looking over my shoulder all I saw was the camera guy packing up his equipment. No TV time for me...
