[cool][blue]Hey Ron, I'm glad you added that disclaimer. I thought maybe you were fishing a different Yuba than I have been. My last couple of trips were disappointing from the standpoint of being mobbed by skinny little fish and only a few larger ones...and they were skinny too. I think the reason the larger ones are fatter now is because they are full of eggs. I doubt that the fillets will be very healthy.[/blue]

[#0000ff]Me? I will not fish Yuba until after April 1. That law about mandatory keeping of the first ten fish is ridiculous. And the 10 fish limit is the one I proposed as an interim measure two years ago, to get the lake opened to at least some perch fishing. Right now Yuba has the largest population of perch in the state and there should be either no limit, or at least the statewide 20 fish limit...with no mandatory keeping rule. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are going to be a lot of tickets written on anglers who try to stuff bitty perch back down the hole in shallow water, even when the fish swim back down with no problems. The COs with have a field day with their spotting scopes, watching for folks who do not want to keep 10 six inch perch. From past experience, I predict that there will be some tickets written just for looking suspicious when you scoop the ice out of your hole...and the CO thinks you are releasing a little fish.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]After April, I may dunk my tube looking for walleyes and pike, and culling a limit of better perch legally. But, as long as those assinine rules are in place, I have better places to fish...closer to Salt Lake.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Not only that, it is going to be bitterly cold down there on the 1st of January. I am not just a fair weather fisherman, but I fish for pleasure...not to prove how much pain I can tolerate.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You guys have fun without me.[/#0000ff]
