dude there is more perch in that lake then i have ever seen.. with last year and this year bring the only years i have ever seen the perch in less than 30 feet of water with ice on the lake.. and never even last year did i see them up in water less then 20 feet.. this year they are in water under 15 feet.. thats telling me that there is no danger to them in the shalows. when the pike and walleye's are around, pike in the shalower water from 5 to 20 feet deep, walleye being in the 15 to 30 foot area.. the perch stay in the 30 to 40 foot area.. i seen perch up as shalow as 8 feet deep the other day.. i just dont think there is that many predators in yuba right now.. the whole time i was watching them perch i did not see them get spooked at all by a predator.. in a area where pike are known to hang out..
