Help on huntington beach pier

Alight i will try next time i get one. I went last night. i tried all over. from the life guard tower to the restaurant. I only got one more ray, a crab, and missed bites. I am not doing very well. i tried some smaller tube jigs and i tried a little piece of squid with a weight in all kinds of depths. i just cant seem to figure it out. I went to a fishing and hunting place yesterday to look for a muscle hook thing but they did not have them. they told me to try the big fish tackle shop so ill be heading over there later today to look for one. I fished from 5ish to 10
