Your comment didn't make me feel stupid. Although the flygodess put me in check I thought the whip I had was a thompson but it is a Matareli. The flies I have been tying seem to work well, the fish haven't noticed I couldn't finish it pretty. I haven't had any come undone on me while fishing yet. I will check out the other video for the matareli tool, the other demos I looked at were only still shots maybe the video will be more detailed
