[cool][#0000ff]Your thinking is not faulty. But, the reason why the perch and crappies cruise the deep water of the narrows in the winter is not because they enjoy deep water. It is because they follow the schools of baby perch. So, if the cover attracted some baby perch, the bigger fish would hang around the cafeteria.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]In Jordanelle, some of the best ice fishing is in the flooded sagebrush flats at the far end of the lake. If you drop a camera down you will see why. Hordes of baby perch swim around the remaining sticks of sagebrush and the perch and trout feed on them all day. Just about every fish you bring up is barfing up baby perch.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We have seen a lot of perchette remnants in the fish we caught in the narrows at Pineview too. So, if it were possible to concentrate more food, we would be able to keep more perch and crappies in the neighborhood.[/#0000ff]
