I have asked people to watch what they were saying twice in the last couple of years. Once was at a Mariners game. The guy behind me and my 11 year old son was drunk and cursing up a storm. It made my son very uncomfortable. I turned around and very politely explained the situation and he aplogized and that was the end of it. This year I was launching at Jordanelle and there were about four teenage boys at the dock cursing and making a bunch of noise. There were families around looking embarassed. I was by myself this time. I asked them to please hold it down, it lasted about 1 minute and they started up again. By now I was and went over and said some things that probably could have got me in trouble, no telling how old these kids were with daddy's truck and boat. I think it was just coincidence, but they loaded up and left. I personally would not recommend confronting anyone, especially if your kids are there. Most people are courteous and think of other people. The best thing to do is move out of earshot. I'm sorry this happened to you. I don't really mind what people say around me, but it's a whole different thing when your wife or kids are around.
