long term fly line storage

I have received line this way before and I throw away the spools also, so it is a great way to store them. I had some DT I took off a reel and I was going to get the Ridgeline to put on it, but, then I bought another reel and spool so I am good, but I was thinking of letting you try the DT. Only problem is it was a 4wt.
