I used to use hot dogs as well. Out at Bountiful Pond we would put nearly a half a dog on a hook for the BIG carp. My buddy caught one that was dang near 3 feet long. He fought the SOB for 45 minutes. I told him he probably had the state record at least for that year, but neither one of us wanted to handle it to take it in. We did have cut bait for most of the summer though.
