When you say "fish alarm" I assume you mean fish I.D. Always have your fish ID turned off. Sensitivity should be adjusted for the conditions you are fishing in. Start it at 75% and turn it up as much as you can with out causing a lot of interference on your screen. Having to adjust it through out the day is not uncommon. If you have upper and lower limits adjust them to the depths you are fishing. If your transducer is a 19* the diameter on the bottom of the lake is 1/3 your depth. Example: 30' of water your sonar is showing a 10' diameter. It takes time to figure it out to where you are comfortable with your sonar. Keep the fish ID off (not sure why thats even on there and why fishermen use it) at all times and get use to reading the sonar with out it.
