See the sentiment that you guys are expressing doesn't seem to be too open minded. We have a problem at Scofield, so why not solve it with smallies. Contrary to what Fishermn and Tubedude are saying, that strategy DOES work and is working now in Otter Creek, Piute and Minersville.
As far as crawdads are concerned, there are at least as many craws in Otter Creek as their are in Scofield and again it's been successful so far.

Looks what smallmouth have done in the Gorge. There are almost no chubs in there now and millions of tiny 8-10" small mouth. It has changed the ecology for sure but not in a good way. Chubs are not the evil that everyone makes them out to be. They balance well with trout you simply need to let them get big enough to eat the chubs. If they are always harvested before that time that is when things get unbalanced.
