[cool][#0000ff]Not to play "devil's advocate" with you, but isn't the purpose of planting sterile fish to be able to manage a lake...with provisions for a certain amount of harvest? Throwing back a sterile fish is not the same as releasing a species that has the potential for reproduction. Sure, it (potentially) allows someone else to enjoy catching them again, but it does nothing long term for the population or the ecology. But, in lakes that do not have adequate spawning streams or areas, planting sterile hybrids makes more sense. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I am against unregulated harvest, but as long as it is legal to harvest the fish, and DWR is maintaining the fishery through monitoring and stocking, what is the concern? There will always be a few fish that escape anglers and grow bigger. And, there will always be anglers who exercise their rights to fish in the lake and to keep a legal limit.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]It is your legal right to object to other people keeping fish, but not good manners to expect them all to believe as you do. We have come a long way in Utah, from the days of 10 trout limits and families counting on fish to supplement their budget. More and more anglers are fishing for sport rather than subsistence. But, cooler fillers are never going to go away and getting uptight about it is not good for you.[/#0000ff]
