The DWR has planted warm water species when the need is there. There is absolutely no need for any angler to transplant his or her favorite fish to their local water just for giggles and a shorter drive. I know the DWR has planted Smallies in Piute, Otter Creek, and Minersville to name a couple. Walleyes have never needed to be planted anywhere. They're in all the waters they're needed in.
All I'm saying is if an angler didn't like fishing for the fish, why take the time and effort to illegally transplant them? Indeed it is bass anglers have illegally stocked bass, and will again. I don't know which ones. I'm not saying it's you, or any other person in particular. It's someone who enjoys fishing for them, though, and would like to see them in as many waters as possible. Bass anglers.
And I know how stressful it is to keep fish in live wells, buckets, bags, ect. The lactic acid build up of even an hour trip is incredible. It is not indicitive of a healthy fishery to allow the fish to be carted around the lake all day. Sorry, but that's just the truth. I don't put bass I plan on releasing in my live well. They're imediately released with a picture and measurements taken. And fish that are kept are better off immediately being put on in a cooler. Their flesh is firmer, and they're a lot easier to fillet.
That's just my .02 Don't take offence or anything.
