SNOW!?!?! It's June!!!
I use a 5'6" medium light rod and a 2000 series spinning reel for stream fishing and I do nothing but drift with it. I could have went with a smaller capacity reel, but other than that, I think my set-up is perfect for me. 5'6" is short enough to maneauver around the shorline (shrubs, trees, etc.), but long enough to cast to the opposite bank. I use 8# Stren Magnathin line and usually a leader of 4# Maxima Chameleon.
