It depends on the water depth. There are a couple of rapids that are fun to take if your pontoon is big enough. My South Fork II handles them fine. The water changes from fast canyon stretches to wide open lakes about three times. The water right were the canyons pour into the lakes are usually good.
I carry both a fly rod and lure rod. There are times when the fish are rising to dries. I usually use streamer patterns like muddler minnows. If I do not get anything to go on the fly rod then I fish the holes with Rapalas. That is probably why I am not a very good streamer fisherman always falling back on Rapalas.[angelic]
