Bass,BlueG,Tilapia and Skitters
#12
I personally don't care for Peacock bass. I know what they are. I've taken care of them enough. They constantly eat. 10x more than largemouth. In a lake with as limited resources as Blue Lakes, a super predator like that will eventually eliminate all the competition. All the bass.

Plus if, and I do say IF, I want tropical species swimming in that lake, I'd rather it be Frontosa. Or Tyranochromis Macrostoma, Boulengerochromis Microlepis, or Oreochromis Tanganicae. Not that I'm telling anyone to plant anything more out there. It'd just be cool to have the worlds two largest species of cichlids and a tilapia that'll hit 20# in the mix.

And I've heard that Peacocks don't get along with bass all that well in the canals in Florida. I have a friend of mine that moved down there. Her dad's lived there for years. Since the Peacocks and Oscars have taken over, it's been lights out for decent LMB fishing. They're getting fewer and farer between.

It's just Sad for me to see, personally. I've fished that lake for going on 20 years now(my entire life.) It's not the same lake it was, that's for sure, and it'll never be the same again.
