Non-Tox reloaders?
#3
I reload both lead and steel in 12g and lead in 20g. I have a MEC 600 jr for the 20g chore and a Pacific for my 12g. Both are great presses (single stage). As already pointed out steel is cheaper to buy already loaded. I save a little with lead though. This year Ducks Unlimited offered a screaming deal on Reminton Sportsman shells. I bought 5 cases of 3" 12g mags and another case of 3.5" super mags. The 3" mags at 1 1/8oz of steel #2's were $9.00/box and the 3.5" super mags with 1 3/8oz steel BB's were $11.60/box. Thats is WAY cheap! Both shells were speedsters at 1500fps. That is faster than the steel reloads I was reloading which were clocking out at around 1250-1300 fps with a 1 oz load in 2 3/4" shells and 1 1/8oz load in the 3" mags both with #2 steel. Look for good deals in January and February when Wally's is clearing out their steel, or join DU and talk to the state chairman about pre-ordering in the spring for delivery in the fall.
