I was more than excited to harvest this buck. The reservoir in the background is Scofield and our cabin sits in the group of cabins you can see in the picture.
I shot the deer right from where the picture is taken of the reservoir. The buck was standing in between the little quakie patch and the juniper trees at the top of right of the picture.
He was about 180 yards away. I was shooting a Winchester model 70, .270 caliber with 130 grain bullets.
I hit him a couple of times before he finally fell about 60 yards from where he was first spotted.
