missed and still got my elk.

i know how? well i missed a spike at first light. we had bulls sceaming in the darkness as we arive my spot. a pumpkin army came in and droped right down into the 2 draws. i had a bull closing in on my cow calls in the quakes 400 yrds below me. 3 other guys come in and start bugling i stood up about 40 yrds from them. they came over i told them the jist of what i was doing and then they walked right down onto the bull. shot and missed. and all the bulls kept sceaming. about 12 or so in the 2 draws. then war. 6 bulls down in 5 mins. then i missed that spike running in the quakees. soo we started out about 2 hrs later. on the way i found a cow some one shot and walked away from. looked around and found 2 casings. then my boy his first elk hunt asked why i was so pissed? i then told him how we have to report it. to many people dont and that this could eat up the rest of the day waiting for fg to get there. we made it back to the truck warmed up and up pulls the fg. perfect i told cody. reported the elk and she gave it to me after my boy took her back to it and i brought assistance to bring it out. i was way proud of him. he had only been in 1 time in the dark . out in the light. and it was 2 1/2 miles in. i still have my tag she wrote me a cow tag for assisting the investigation. and my boy learnd how to show up when he see,s it. win win win!!!
