I am going to visit some friends in the area on the weekend of October 18th, and we want to take a trip to Lake Casitas to try for some bass. I am from Utah, and have done a lot of bass fishing here, but I am completely unfamiliar with California bass waters. From the little research that I've done, I've heard that the bass at Casitas eat a lot of trout this time of year. Is this true? Any advice on what lures to use, what part of the lake to fish, or any other advice would be helpful and much appreciated!
Also, we don't have access to a boat. Is it possible to catch big bass from shore this time of year?
Thanks for any help!
