I've done a lot of fishing in Michigan and have to say that the Huron River Chain O' Lakes is probably my best area. I'll probably butcher this, but here goes: They include Portage,Zukey,Strawberry,Baseline,Whitewood and Gallagher Lakes. I go there for the Pike bite every year and catching 8-10 inch bluegill is not uncommon. There is also good walleye fishing,but they are harder to catch since the pike are the big dogs in those lakes. I've caught several nice flatheads out of there too. The thing I like about it is that you can go out on a pontoon and get to all of the lakes without leaving the water.
