Those are some great tips, the good boots and head lamps are ones I have discovered as well! Nothing beats warm/dry boots in the winter! I have two to contribute...
My number one tip this year has to be smelly jelly/procure on a jig...in the past I just tipped with a worm and found myself missing hook sets, now I have to really pay attention, because if I don't they swallow it like powerbait!
Number two...Carry a short stick with a nail through it onto the ice...I haven't had the opportunity to try this, but in theory is a great idea. If you happen to fall through the stick will allow you to pull yourself out of the water and back onto the ice...In theory!
