I am not familiar with the tube you have other than it is 420 denier cover.
The Fish Cat is 600 if I read that right.
The material and the stitching is very important.
If you could come up with the extra cash, I would go with the Fish Cat specially being a newbie.
If something were to happen, it could ruin it forever for you getting into a tube again.
However, as you said, the tube did get good reviews. If you decide to keep it, just be sure to take a few precautions such as don't go alone and wear a floatation devise (which is a law in most states that you have one.
I had a real cheap "U" boat along time ago and I had a blast in it. When it decided to explode, it was on land.
Just don't over fill, specially in hot weather or higher altitudes.
