[cool][#0000ff]Put a serious test on Roghet today. He is an artist and seldom sees a sunrise. Gets up at 9 and wakes up at noon. You know the type. I made him show up at my place by 5 am...and he was on time. He has potential.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We were actually on the ice at the Oasis ramp before daybreak...about 7 AM. He had to rerig with the aid of my little head lamp. We were accompanied out by 2Fishon and by Ice Princess, her daughter Sheyenne and FishFearMe2. Good to meet you finally, Brent.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Had a couple of other two man groups set up in the same general area. When the noise of the drilling died off and the sky got lighter the perch drifted in for a checkout of the wierdos. Using my pale perch colored blade bait that had been my best lure on Sunday, I put four perch on the ice in about 15 minutes. Then others began with the onesies and twosies. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]It never got busy, but everybody was dinging one here and there and most of the fish were good sized. Ice Princess and her court got into a good area and all of her group was catching fish...especially little Sheyenne. She is a cutie and a dedicated anglerette. I was really glad to see her having a good time.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Roghet started slow, but picked up a few fish after tieing on one of my blade baits. He didn't quite leave with a limit but I think I finally convinced him that you don't have to use micro tackle on those toad perchies. His biggest (phat 12 incher) came on one of my chartreuse minnow jigs while using one of my longer and lighter rods. I think we will be building him some new rods to go along with the new jigs he and his sons are learning to make.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I caught a limit, using only about three different lures...all tipped with "processed" perch meat. Could not buy a bite on crawler today, although Roghet did score one decent perch on a bitty jig and some waxworms.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Great weather today, with only a bit of slush forming on top of the ice as we left about noonish. Had a good chat with Jeff Rasmussen, Park Manager after we got back to the car. Nice guy and likes to see everybody having a good time.[/#0000ff]
