Fish are pretty smart creatures. If their hearing is good then yes they can. Also fish will follow the fish thats closer to the rainy side. Also they can probably feel the difference in the water and switch to the rainy side. My weather loaches knew when we was getting a storm and would swim frantically in the tank. I am not a scientist.Its just a theory/opinion
