Willard disaster averted
#28
glad to hear you guys are ok. have kind of a similar story, but not.

Trout_Slayer and I were fishing a small'ish lake in CO called Clear Creek with our old man and his buddy. we were doing quiet well, and i had my float tube, but blew the main bladder. anyway, TS and i decided to start hiking around the lake. was a cold day, snowed here and there. lake was mainly ice free. we crossed the litte creek and made it to the other side of the lake. by now it was mid afternoon and we had a long way to go. snow started getting deeper and we were still doing quiet well. by the time we had made it mid way around the snow clouds were rolling in fast. we kept fishing, and kept doing well. all the time not spending more then 20 minutes at one spot. it finally hit about 3pm and it was starting to get dark. i couldent see our old man any more because we made it to the crook of the lake and had the dam in sight. parts of the snow were waist deep in some areas, and we got to the point of the lake where the ice shelf was. we took a small rest on the rock that was about 100 yards from the dam. well low and behold, it starts snowing pretty hard, and here comes our old man. had one of us slipped off the bank and landed in the water we would have been screwed, since we had to walk the shore line to keep out of the snow. by the time we walked up the dam, we were soaked, freezing, and starving. i teel ya, it was a little freaky, but if i could do it again, i wouldent change a thing, since no one ogt hurt, we made it back safe, and i got toi spend some great times with my little brother fishing.
