Water temp. measuring methods

Surface temp is what fishfinders measure. There are temp gauges on some downrigger balls that measure the temp at the depth you are fishing. No need for all that unless you are looking for the thermocline. Your fish tank thermometer will measure just fine. Not a big deal fishing from the bank. It can make a difference in what you fish for and at what times though.[cool]
