The main lures we use early in the year are stickbaits trolled in 5-20 ft. of water. These are about 4" long and usually floaters that dive when pulled. Popular ones are Thunderstick Jr.'s, #9 straight & jointed Rapalas, etc. Good colors are chartreuse, orange, firetiger, black & silver. Sometimes these are pulled with a split shot up the line about 4' from the lure to achieve a little more depth. Capt. Dick Dennie of Landing Zone Charters on Lake Ontario
