Overton Arm/Stewarts Point
#1
Heya Guys,

Headed out with my buddy Bob today. We launched out of Echo and motored up towards Stewarts point. Again Bob caught most of the fish. A couple of crappie, a decent striper and a lot of bluegill. Bob was using a bobber and worm while I was giving it a go with my fly rod. I missed several strikes and and caught one fat bluegill. I am slowly dialing in my fly rod technique. I think I'm going to start using either my float tube or my pontoon/electric motor rig near Hemingway soon as it's a much closer drive. I'm a pretty good caster but it's so much easier to use a fly rod alone on a tube or pontoon than with two people in a boat rigged for bassin'.

I'm off Friday and Sat this week so I'm thinking of hitting the boulder beach or gov't wash area if the weather is nice on the pontoon.. I'll post if I get out.

One of the problems I have is once I get my gear loaded, I tend to change gears and head to Utah or some Nevada trout lakes as it's more my style of fishing. However I am determined to start fishing Mead more. That doesn't necessarily mean stripers though. I like to panfish with my 3wt and I've been reading up on catching tilapia as well.
