Not quiet true, bottom bouncer are made to keep the weighted end or wire on the bottom so it will keep the other arm in the clear or bait or lure in the clear, so when you use them you need the right weighted one so it works with the lure or bait out of the snags...If you go too slow it (the bouncer) will lay on its side and will snag in rocks or brush...

But in rocks the Mojo rock hopper will go and even stop and start again with out a snag...
