Spinners in #1, 2, 3 silver, bronze, black are good to start with. I've caught them on lots of colors and different blade shapes. Jakes Spin-a-lures have performed well at times. Rapala minnow type lures #5 to 9 can be good. 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigs (marabou, tubes, twisters) in dark colors often work well. Take a variety of colors and sizes because I've seen success change dramatically just by switching color or size on this river.
Prepare them for picky fish and hope to be pleasantly surprized if the fish are on a binge feed. Make sure the kids know the regulations so they don't get into trouble. If you don't catch enough on the river go up to the Gorge with some worms or PB and you can usually nail a few.
